Welcome to the North Shropshire Grass Track Car Club Website.
The Drivers Night is to be held on Friday 24th February at 8.30pm, The Raven Hotel, Prees Heath, nr Whitchurch. All Welcome, you dont have to be a Driver to Attend!
Check out the Race Dates Page for the 2012 Race Season Dates, as you will see our first Race Meeting is 18th March 2012 Racing Starts at 11:30am, the perfect opportunity to try out your new builds/modified cars that many of you will be constructing/tinkering with over the winter! Dont leave it too long to build, it will soon be here!
If you are reading this and thinking, Shucks! I’ve missed it for this year, dont worry 2012 will soon be here and remember there are lots of jobs to do on race day’s, if you would like to help out in anyway just get in touch, this is a list of jobs that are carried out throughout the year.
- setting up the area ropes,
- preparing the track for race day,
- grass mowing/strimming,
- sorting the toilets,
- buying the trophies,
- collecting the gate money,
- buying raffle prizes,
- selling raffle tickets,
- putting out rubbish bags,
- setting up fire extinguishers and issuing flags,
- scrutineering,
- signing on,
- pits control,
- lap scoring,
- commentating
- being a driver rep,
- picking up rubbish at the end of the day
- marshalling all day long whatever the weather,
- crash recovery,
- track watering.
So if you love motorsport but don’t race you can still be involved ~ or like many drivers do help out with whatever you can do, believe me it does make a difference and it is appreciated
