 The Club Presentation & Cabaret Night was held on Saturday 21st November at The Raven Hotel. 

Following the cancellation of 2 race meetings due to heavy rain it was quite apt that on the day of the “Do” the conditions were awful, with high winds and heavy rain !

Considering the date clashed with the BAS Presentation there was a healthy turnout on the night, which was good to see.  The committee had started planning this evening back in June and they appreciated that some people may be struggling due to the financial conditions of the year and so gave members the option of attending for the whole evening consisting of meal, presentation & cabaret or just the presentation and cabaret only, we hope that these options opened up the evening to as many members as possible attending.

The evening kicked off with the usual good home cooked carvery that The Raven produces followed by either a tasty choice of Christmas Pudding or Apple Pie

Once the food was over with Ernie and Pat got underway with the Trophy Presentation:

Class One: Winner Josh Fowler, Runner Up Darren Ikin.

Class Two: Winner Vernon Jackson, Runner Up Keith Belcher.

Class Three: Winner Leon Dorsett, Runner Up Ernie Ashley.

Class Four: Winner Kevin Thomas, Runner Up Simon Lunt.

Class Five: Joint Winners Paul Darlington & Julian Galovics, Runner Up: John Wild.

Class Six: Winner Ben Gould, Runner Up Ian Rogers.

Class Seven: Winner Alan Miles, Runner Up Andy Pipe.

Class Eight: Winner Geoff Berrisford, Runner Up Daren James.

Class Nine: Winner John Williams, Runner Up Sam Gould.

Class Ten: Winner Mike Holroyd, Runner Up Mark Lawrence.

Ladies Class Eleven: Winner Beverly Holland, Runner Up Joanne Millington.

Ladies Class Twelve: Winner Angela Evans, Runner Up: Teri Rowland.

Ladies Class Thirteen: Winner Diane Jones.

Ladies Class Fourteen: Winner Kelly Holroyd, Joint Runners Up Julie Thorborn & Shirley Lawrence.

Junior Saloon’s: Joint Winners Will Henry & Joe Pipe.

Junior Special’s: Winner Thomas Chadwick, Runner Up Aiden Arrowsmith.

Mens Nationals Presidents Cup Presented to: Cary Evans.

Ladies & Juniors Presidents Cup Presented to: Will Henry.

Geoff Reade Memorial Trophy: Class Winner Man: Leon Dorsett. Class Winner Lady: Kelly Holroyd.

Most Recognition for the Club around the Country Presented to: Steve Atkins.

“F”ing Geoff Cup Presented to: Martin Gould (voted for by club members on the night for most work done for the club in the season).

Up & Coming Driver: Graham Holmes.

Up & Coming Junior Driver: Daniel Owen.

The presentation was followed by a good hour long stint by the booked entertainment for the evening, which was comedian “Paul Levent“, he soon had the whole room in stitches and seemed to go down very well with all in the room. There was then a disco and Raffle.

The committee will be looking at the date for next years Presentation Night as we are aware that some people would of liked to have attended both their Club and BAS evenings but ultimately had to choose one or the other. We are always keen to provide an evening that the Club Members want, so if you have any ideas for next years Presentation Night please let someone on the committee know as at the end of the day the Evening is for you to celebrate your successful season or drown your sorrows of a poor season with your fellow Club Members

The Club AGM is on Friday 4th December and the Shropshire League AGM is on Friday 8th January 2010.

Both meetings will be held at The Raven Hotel, Prees Heath and will start around 8.30pm.  The meetings are open to everyone, if you are a licence holder you are entitled to vote for committee members and cast votes on any other matters brought up on the evening.

The Club AGM  is also your first opportunity to get your hands on those all important 2010 rule books and licence application forms See you there
